The Lincoln Park Solar Garden is receiving national attention for its focus on renewable power for a low-income neighborhood with two recently awarded grants from national funders.
The first grant is from the U.S. Conference of Mayors CommunityWINS Grant Program, which awarded Ecolibrium3 and the City of Duluth a $50,000 grant for the innovative project. The Conference of Mayors and Wells Fargo highlighted the project’s focus on neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and job creation.
The other award comes in the form a $25,000 matching grant from the Left Coast Fund as part of their 50 States Solar Project. The Fund will match community contributions raised from July 1 to September 30 to assist in the completion of the solar garden.
