The AmeriCorps Legacy House Team has exciting news! After months of fundraising and with the generous support of our community, we have matched our $40,000 challenge grant from the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation! These funds will help us continue construction on the Legacy House, a project, which, once completed will provide AmeriCorps VISTA members with an affordable housing option.
Our AmeriCorps VISTA members are the driving force behind many of Eco3’s community development projects, but, due to a minimal living allowance VISTA members often have difficulty finding affordable housing in the community they live and serve in. For several years Eco3 staff and cohorts of AmeriCorps VISTA members have been dreaming of opening up the Legacy House to VISTA members as a way to ease that difficulty.
Now, with the funds from the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation, we are one step closer to making that dream a reality. We could not have done it without the generosity of our partners, sponsors and donors and thus for their support Eco3 would like to recognize:
