Sustainable Lawn Care
According to the University of Minnesota Extension Sustainable Lawn Care guide, there are many benefits to a healthy lawn if native plantings or food growth isn’t your first choice. Turfgrass can provide areas for healthy play and improve flood control, prevent erosion, breakdown organic chemicals, provide wildlife habitat, and create a cooling effecting during warm weather. Although lawns can be a monocrop, using sustainable management techniques can aid in a healthier urban environment.
