We are hosting a Local Foods, Local Places Food Summit on October 21 and 22. We hope you can join us!
The Local Foods, Local Places Food Summit will explore how to use land optimally, improve food access, and increase economic activity in Lincoln Park. Participants will explore together what this might look like on the ground. Will it mean more space for food gardening, not only in community gardens but in backyards and vacant space? Will it mean a professional kitchen where people can preserve their summer harvests and incubate small businesses in food production? Will it mean finding a way to create the grocery store the neighborhood needs, when large chains have hesitated to invest here? Participants will work together to plan for a strong local food system.
The Summit will include a Monday evening session and an all-day gathering on Tuesday. We will discuss where we’ve been, where we want to be, and how we can get there. And we’ll enjoy lots of good food, thanks to the Duluth Grill family of restaurants.
Please join us! The Local Foods, Local Places Food Summit will take place on October 21 and 22 in Lincoln Park. Monday evening is an open session. Tuesday is free but requires pre-registration.
