The former senior center at 2014 W 3rd St. that closed during the pandemic is scheduled to reopen in the spring of 2025 as the Lincoln Park Hub (LNPK Hub). Operated by Ecolibrium3, the rejuvenated facility will serve as an expanded community center, host events and meetings, and provide public computer access.
Excavation begins at the front entrance of the future LNPK Hub, as a hole is dug and steps are taken in preparation for the new entrance’s foundation
The LNPK Hub will feature a new accessible entrance including a lift, skywalk access to MidTowne I and II apartments, and a refreshed interior. In addition, a publicly accessible computer lab for classes and individual use, rentable gathering space for up to 50 occupants, a new reception area, and several small meeting alcoves are being constructed. Community organizations and the general public can use these meeting alcoves to collaborate, work, and foster initiatives and ideas.
Construction continues with stacking cinder blocks and concrete pouring, done under a cover to protect the forms and rebar from winter’s challenging elements
The new entrance is under construction and interior finish work will occur in early 2025. Funding has been provided by the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development. Project management, design, and construction is through Ecolibrium3, Architectural Advantage, and Johnson Wilson Constructions.
Watch for the grand re-opening in the spring of 2025!
