Legacy House Renovation Update

Photos of Legacy House taken throughout the fall of 2024 and into 2025 showcase the significant progress of projects within the interior of the building

It’s time for an update on the Eco3 Legacy House project! Several updates have moved us closer to the renovation finish line. Recent Legacy House updates have included sheetrock installation by union members from Carpenter’s Training Institute and plumbing installation by Carlson Duluth.

In January we worked with Joel Stone of the Carpenter’s Training Institute to assess projects and materials needed to develop a multi-day apprenticeship training program with the Carpenter’s Union 361, as they have done in the past with other Legacy House renovation projects.

Sheetrock and plumbing installations take place in the bathrooms of Legacy

Over a series of days in the late fall of 2024, union members measured, cut, and installed sheetrock in each room. This process was aided by renting sheetrock jacks, and required diligent collaboration between foremen and installers. Cutouts were made in the sheetrock for all lighting and electrical outlets as well as HVAC ducts.

In addition to the sheetrock installation, Carlson Duluth, our plumbing and HVAC contractor, installed plumbing for the two showers and shower bases at Legacy House.

We continue to look ahead to  more renovations and installments in the coming months. Next up is taping and painting! Stay tuned for more updates on this work in a future update.
