DTA Public Schools Partnership
The DTA (Duluth Transit Authority) partnership with Duluth Public Schools allows unlimited free rides to public high school staff and students throughout Duluth. This project is currently in the pilot stage, with the possibility of extending to private schools with enough participation. The program is based on the U-Pass Program in partnership with local universities. Students and staff can get free rides to school and to after-school activities by showing their school identification. There are no restrictions as to where or when students and staff can ride the bus using this program. By providing free rides to students and faculty, this project increases transportation equity and helps local schools navigate the current shortage of school bus drivers.
