Ecolibrium3 Wins State Climate Adaptation Award

Ecolibrium3 was named the Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership’s 2022 Organization Award winner during an online ceremony on January 31st. The award recognizes a decade of community leadership in Minnesota to address the climate crisis.

The nomination by the City of Duluth included multiple projects and programs that have advanced Duluth’s climate mitigation and adaptation approaches including the Duluth Energy Efficiency Program, coordination of regional flood recovery efforts, leadership in expanding solar energy access, the Lincoln Park Solar Garden, and energy equity work. 

Highlighted during the ceremony was the leadership by Ecolibrium3 on the creation of the Duluth Citizens’ Climate Action Plan.

Dr. Mark Seeley, long-time Minnesota climate champion and communicator, presented the award stating, “They (Eco3) are a great asset to the city of Duluth and we look forward to continuing and maintaining it as an example to other communities.”

The MN Climate Adaptation Partnership advances critical climate science, champions adaptation leadership and supports climate resilience actions and collaborations across sectors and levels of government to ensure Minnesota is making needed progress to prepare for our changing climate. 

Ecolibrium3 also congratulates the winners in the other categories: Sara Smith, Precipitate, Dibaginjigaadeg Anishinaabe Ezhitwaad: A Tribal Climate Adaptation Menu Team, and Katya Goodenough Gordon.
