Energy Production Actions
Energy production accounts for the majority of Duluth’s greenhouse gas emissions— 616,009 tons—which is 62% of our GHG emissions.
The item that would make the greatest impact on reducing our community’s GHG emissions is removing coal and gas from the mix of our energy sources. This alone would remove 41% of our community’s greenhouse gas emissions, 349,668 tons.
How do we do that? Here are steps some of our community experts recommend that will help move our electricity production to renewables and support the development of community-owned, locally produced clean energy. Which actions will you commit to?
